“I” Grades: Judy Graves.
Judy passed around a handout to everyone. She said that we had an APA audit last week and the auditor wrote us up because of our “I” grade history. Judy said that we are not following policy in many cases. She said that they have changed the form somewhat to help explain the policy better. Judy said what we got written up for was because faculty were submitting “I” grade forms for students who had completed way less than the required 50% of the course, and, in some cases, were not passing. Judy said that the corrected form will be on the CVCC website under Admissions and Records, Downloadable Forms. Judy said that the auditor will be back next year to check up on how we are doing. She said that if we get a repeat audit finding, it goes to the Department of Education and we do not need that to happen.
Peer Review Process for Online Courses: Ed McGee
Ed gave everyone a handout outlining the on-line course review process. He said that he and Susan Beasley worked on this, he went over some of the changes and additions that they made, and he wanted everyone’s feedback. Will asked everyone to give their feedback to Ed by Friday. Then Ed will revise it and then present it to the Faculty Association at their meeting on Tuesday.
Office 365: Will Sandidge.
Will said that faculty and staff are going to be getting Microsoft Office 365 and it will be provided to students for free.
- Will said that about 175 people attended the Customer Service Training and there was positive feedback about the course. He said that there are still people who have not attended and there will be two make-up sessions. Will said that he will send out an email of those who have not attended and the supervisors need to make sure that their staff members attend.
Will asked if there were any other items to discuss and since there were none, he dismissed the meeting.
