Fundraiser at Loose Shoe for Habitat for Humanity
There was a lot of discussion on the fundraiser coming up on Friday, April 26, at Loose Shoe located in the Ambriar Shopping Center, Amherst, Virginia. Matt Poteat, Master Chef, will be cooking barbecue for the event. Vic Sizemore’s band, A New Low, will be playing. There have been some great donations of gift cards and other items from local businesses. Baskets will be made up to raffle off at the event. Raffle tickets will be sold before the event here on campus and baskets displayed at CVCC the day before the event for everyone to see. There was discussion on a 50/50 raffle also. We would like to make at least $500-$600 at this event. We need to raise $3,500 by September 13 to purchase a wall.

There will be a meeting of the fundraiser committee to discuss how this will all take place and CSA volunteers will meet to get the baskets together on April 24th or 25th.

There is a new Fall Class: PED 195-01MA (45218) Weight Training for Beginners offered to employees. It is a pass/fail 1 credit class on Mondays from 12-12:50 taught by Rick Templeton.
The VCCA will be holding the 37th Annual Conference on September 25-27, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel. Please consider registering for the event.
Consider using your Professional Development for these.
