Mary happily reported that Habitat for Humanity was a great success thanks to everyone that participated. We raised $4,000 and Catherine Rice has transferred the money to GLHFH.
Toys for Tots
Catherine Rice explained that the CVCC Veteran’s Group will team up with the CSA for this project. Veterans will be placing boxes in certain areas for toy donations. This event will be publicized, and Catherine will be wheeling her trolley around asking for monetary donations and toys. Last year was our best year ever for this project. The Social Committee is going to ask for donations during the Winter Holiday Luncheon on December 12th.
Lynchburg Christmas Parade
Connie Deacon reported that CVCC will participate in the 60th Anniversary of the Lynchburg Christmas Parade that will be held on Sunday, December 8th, starting at the Lynchburg Stadium at 4 p.m. and ending at E.C. Glass. The theme is “Snowflakes & Diamonds – Sparking Through Time.” The application has been submitted. Candy to hand out during the parade has been purchased. The 2019 Grand Marshall is Taylor Rodriguez (“Elvis Tribute Artist”). If you would like to participate and represent CVCC, please come to the CVCC float no later than 3 p.m. on that day. If you would like to help decorate, please come at 1:30 p.m. We have a great time!
David Lightfoot (with assistance from William Osborne) spoke on the Wireless Phone System (wireless headset that fits around your ear) and using “Teams.” This new phone system is scheduled to roll out in February, 2020. We will be practicing internally before then. If you would like to start experimenting with this new phone system, please contact David Lightfoot. If you would like to set up a departmental “Teams” training, contact William Osborne. Thank you both for all the information.
