The meeting was called to order on February 19, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Room 2205.
Meeting Minutes from the January 15, 2019 meeting:
Jim Tuite asked if anyone had any changes to the meeting minutes from January 15, 2019. Kris Ogden made the motion to approve the minutes, and Jim Lemons seconded the motion. All were in favor of the minutes.
Update on the General Education Learning Outcomes Proposal by James Tuite.
Jim Tuite announced the CVCC General Education Outcomes Task Force in the meeting on February 15, 2019, had approved the proposal.
Update on the General Education Learning Outcomes Task Force from James Tuite.
Jim Tuite announced the General Task Force had been split into three-working subgroups. These groups will develop ways to implement different ideas in individual classes. For example, what kind of assignments, etc. Jim Tuite stated he has good ideas for all six outcomes from his classes. His group will meet on March 1, 2019, and March 8, 2019, to discuss which tools would be beneficial to use for the outcomes. He will share his findings at the next meeting.
Jim Tuite asked if anyone had any other questions or announcements for the committee. Kris Ogden stated that their office was still working on writing the fifth-year report for SACSCOC. She announced that Dr. Steven Sheeley had been reassigned as the new vice president of SACSCOC. He would be on campus from October 21, 2019, to October 23, 2019.
Jim Tuite asked if there was any new business. There was none.
Our next meeting is on April 2, 2019.
Jim Lemons made the motion the meeting be adjourned, and Victor Sizemore seconded the motion. All were in favor, and the meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
