  • The Merritt Hall roof replacement is on-going and scheduled for completion mid-December.    There have been no reports of disturbances to staff during the process. 
 
  • Facilities has a very good supply of PPE for distribution.  Please enter your order in Inventory Direct or contact Linda Roberts/Jennifer Dowdy with your request.  In addition, we still have cloth masks available for all staff and faculty.  We purchased two per person, so please let us know if you have not received yours.     
  • Inclement weather closures are being reviewed due to most of the campus operating virtually.  CVCC is looking into the matter and considering two different options.  The first option will be to close campus with virtual learning to continue as normal.  This would be in cases when there is light snow with minimal impact.  The second option will be to close campus with no virtual learning.  This would be for instances when there is heavy snow or ice that could possibly interfere with internet access.  With this change it will be difficult to know the closure status just by viewing the news stations.  The CVCC alert system and website will be the best place to confirm closure status so please make sure you have your phone and email set up to receive all campus alerts.  Faculty will need to remain in close contact with students during this time to ensure they are aware of all changes.
 
  • All signage on campus has been updated to read “campus offices are closed”.  A phone number has been added so any person that comes to campus during regular business hours will have access to speak with someone immediately and be directed on how to proceed. 
 
  • A drop box has been placed between the Appomattox and Amherst buildings for students to drop off any documents.  In addition, three parking spots in the visitors parking lot have been allotted for curb side service in the event a student needs assistance.
